We use a small number of cookies. Analytics cookies are only used if you opt in, and you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. Refusing analytics never limits payment, platform links or free practice.
Essential cookies
These are needed for features you ask for, so they do not require consent.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ssh_session | softwaresidehustles.com | Keeps you signed in after you choose "Sign in with Google". HttpOnly. | Up to 30 days, renewed while you use the site |
ssh_vid | softwaresidehustles.com | A random identifier created when you start the questionnaire, submit a practice answer, save a cookie choice or follow a platform link. It keeps your answers and progress together without an account. HttpOnly. | 365 days |
XSRF-TOKEN | softwaresidehustles.com | Security token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | Browser session |
ssh_consent | softwaresidehustles.com | Remembers your cookie choice. | 365 days |
[LEGAL REVIEW: confirm that ssh_vid qualifies as strictly necessary under PECR for the questionnaire and practice features, given that it is created only when the visitor uses those features.]
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
If you choose "Accept analytics":
- we record first-party usage events (such as page views and button clicks) against your
ssh_vididentifier, and may show you a variant in an A/B test of our page copy; and - if the site owner has enabled it, Google Analytics sets
_gaand_ga_<container-id>cookies (up to 2 years). [OWNER INPUT REQUIRED: state whether Google Analytics is enabled.]
We never send questionnaire answers, recommendation categories or other profiling data to analytics tools.
Third-party pages
- Sign in with Google loads Google's sign-in script, and Google may set its own cookies when you use it.
- Stripe Checkout pages are hosted by Stripe, which sets cookies needed for payment security and fraud prevention.
- Platform websites you visit through our links set their own cookies under their own policies.
Changing your choice
Use "Cookie settings" in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops analytics from then on; it also clears the marketing-source details we stored for analytics. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
